Championships Weekend - December 1 and 2

The SMSL Swim Championships will take place on Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2. The 8 and Under and 9 and 10 year-old groups will swim on Saturday, December 1 at Milan High School. The 11 and 12 year-old and 13 year-old and up groups will swim on Sunday, December 2 at Saline High School. The first session is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and the second session will begin at 12:30 p.m. Warm ups for all sessions will take place one hour prior to the event start. Each swimmer MUST be dressed and ready to swim warm ups one hour prior to the event start.

We will be gathering in the cafeteria or gymnasium of the schools with all the other teams. Your swimmer may bring a sleeping bag, blanket or chair to lounge on in between sessions. Also, feel free to bring any diversions – cards, games, books, music, snacks, etc – as there will be plenty of downtime.

Swim Meet At Milan - Thursday, November 15th

We will be swimming against Milan on Thursday, November 15th. The pool is at the Milan High School, which located at 15000 Redman Rd. in Milan. The meet begins at 6:00 pm and swimmers should be at the pool for warm ups at 5:15 pm. See the map below for directions.

USA Red, White and Blue Meet

Congratulations to all the swimmers who dropped time in this USA meet! We had some swimmers drop time enough to qualify for the Junior Olympic meet in February. Awesome job! In addition, the swimmers also pushed the limits by entering events that are a real reach. i.e. 200 Fly!!! Some swimmers are more confortable with sprinting, others like distance. In this meet, they swam it all. It was a great experience and we all had fun cheering each other on to the finish.
Our next meet is in early January. If you have never watched a USA meet, you can come out for a couple hours or the whole day to see what it is all about.
Mary Thorns will have the packet at the pool for the meet sign up for our current USA swimmers. Registrations are also due to Michigan swimming to keep your USA status current. Mary Thorns has those as well.

Swim Meet At Chelsea - Thursday, November 1st

Our next swim meet will be Thursday, November 1st at Chelsea. Same routine as the previous meets - all swimmers must be at the pool and ready to swim warm ups by 5:15 pm. After your swimmer arrives and changes into his/her suit, they will go on deck and look for an age group representative from our club. The age group rep. will assign them the list of events that they will be swimming that night. The meet officially begins at 6:00 pm.

The Chelsea Aquatic Club swims at the Charles S. Cameron Pool located at the Beach Middle School, 445 Mayer Drive, Chelsea, MI. You can get to the pool by using the map below.

Jewels for the Pool

Sue Johnston, a P.A.C. Parent, is an Independent Representative with Silpada Designs – which is an exclusive line of sterling silver jewelry. Sue will be taking jewelry orders during our meet (next to the concession stand) on October 16th and for the entire week afterwards. All of the proceeds raised from her sales conducted from October 16-23 will be donated to the Pinckney Aquatic Club. We would like to thank Sue for her generosity and also thank all you in advance who may support P.A.C. through your jewelry purchases.

Board Meeting - You're All Invited!

We will be having our next board meeting on Thursday, October 25th in the Pathfinder Media Room. The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm. All parents are invited to attend.

As you may have noticed, we have the largest group of swimmers in the history of the P.A.C. program participating this fall. We're extremely excited about the great turn out and all of the support you have showed this season as parents. If you have any comments, feedback or have considered participating in the future leadership of the club, we urge you to attend.

Meet Sign Up!

The roster is up on the board for the next meet sign up. Please highlight your name if you are coming and cross it out if you are not. We will pull the sheets after practice on Thursday and the line up will be done over the weekend. If your name is not highlighted or crossed out, we will assume you are not coming to the meet. Next Swim Meet - October 3rd at Ypsilanti

Our next swim meet will be on Wednesday, October 3rd at Ypsilanti. Please remember that all swimmers must be at the pool and ready to swim warm ups by 5:15 pm. Swim Pictures on Tuesday

On Tuesday, October 2nd, Greg Sadler will be at the pool taking photos of our swimmers. He will load the photos up to his web site at - www.sadlershots.com. You can then select your favorite photo and order any number or size photos that you wish. The included photo is a sample from fall of 2006.

South Lyon Meet Results!

Everyone swam very fast! For many on our team, this competition was their first. Congratulations! Times have dropped, swimmers gained experience, and everyone had fun. The downside is that we lost the meet by a mere 17 points... final score: 445 South Lyon Sea Lions to 428 Pinckney Pirates. See you at practice... the breaststroke meet will be here before we know it!
